Brew Pub Week: 21st - 26th March

It's no surprise that at Tap East we're big fans of brew pubs. So each year in the run up to the Easter weekend we celebrate this fact. This year we will be having a week long Brew Pub tap takeover. This means that instead our usual changing line up of guest keg and cask, every beer on tap will be one produced at a Pub or Bar with an onsite Brewery like our own. We will also be launching a Tap East rarity or two alongside some one off collaborations, details of which will all be revealed soon. But rest assured, it'll be a beery week not to miss!

CARIBEER - Sorrel IPA Launch 25/02/16

Caribeer, our brand new brew started life as the brain child of Tap East Barman and Brewery Assistant Asa James. Inspired by the tradition Caribbean Sorrel drink he wondered whether the deep red Hibiscus flowers could be used to flavour beer. Three months down the line and Jonny Park, our Head Brewer, was putting the finishing touches to a new "Sorrel IPA" recipe.

Named Caribeer in homage to the drink's Caribbean roots, the beer is a 6.2% IPA, brewed with Enigma hops, Ginger and of course flavoured with Sorrel (Hibiscus), giving the pale ale a little bit more of a reddish hue.

The beer will be available for a limited time only, and is being launched at Tap East on Thursday 25th February.

One not to miss!

Tap East Launches Madagascan Chocolate Beer for Chocolate Week

Madagascan ‘Fair for Life’ chocolate brand Mad├ęcasse is teaming up with London brewery Tap East to create an ultra-exclusive chocolate beer to celebrate Chocolate Week from the 12-18th October.

While Tap East Head Brewer Jonny Park is keeping the brew recipe and beer style close to his chest after months of experimentation, the one guarantee is that the beer will utilise Madagascan cocoa, which is considered by many experts to be the best in the world, and Madecasse’s unique flavour combinations.

The Choco-Beerfest will kick off on Thursday 15th October at 4pm at Tap East, Great Eastern Market, Westfield Stratford City, with the first pints of the beery-chocolate goodness being pulled at 7pm.

Mad├ęcasse Co-Founder Brett Beach will also be in the Great Eastern Market Kitchen to cook up some indulgent chocolate treats and there will be a free chocolate tasting, plus a chocolate and beer matching session also taking place.
